Four Marines advance to be decorated. L to R.: Sgt. Richard L. Martson, Idaho, the Bronze Star; TSgt. Howard W. Solhelm, Route 1, Fess Enden, North Dakota, the Silver Star; Sgt. Melvin V. Eggersgluss, Minnesota, the Bronze Star. Gallantry was at Inchon: awards caught up with them at Hamhung in northeast Korea. They’re men of 5th Marine Regiment.

KOREAN CONFLICT: First UN troops to cross the 38th Parallel hold a sign posting ceremony to let all know that the 3rd ROK Div made the historic crossing, in Korea. Retired USAF Maj. James T. Beck, 13th Bombardment Squadron Devil’s Own Grim Reapers, 1952 Korean War, Kunsan AFB, Douglas A-26 Invader attack bomber

In the photo above, Maj. Beck is seen with his Douglas A-26 Invader (Tail number T), light attack bomber at Kunsan AFB, Korea. He was a 1st Lt. flying with the 3rd Bombardment Group, 5th Air Force, 13th Bombardment Squadron (LNI) "Devil’s Own Grim Reapers" during The Korean War. He was stationed in Korea from April 1952 to November 1952.
